We are very lucky to have a piece of New Zealand’s natural
beauty. Tarata is nestled in bush in the remote Mokai
Valley where the picturesque Rangitikei River meets the rugged
Ruahine Ranges. With the wilderness and unique trout fishing
right at our doorstep, it is the perfect environment to bring up
our three children. Stephen offers guided fishing and rafting
trips for all ages. Raft down the gentle crystal clear waters of
the magnificent Rangitikei River, visit Middle Earth and a
secret waterfall, stunning scenery you will never forget. Our
spacious home and our large garden allow guests private space
to relax and unwind. Whether it is by the pool on a hot summer’s day with a book, soaking in the
spa pool after a day on the river or enjoying a cosy winter’s night in front of our open fire with a glass
of wine. Come on a farm tour meeting our many friendly farm pets and experience our ‘nightlife’ on
our spotlight safari. Stay in our homestead or in Tarata’s fully self-contained ‘River Retreats’ where
you can enjoy a spa bath with ‘million dollar views’ of the river and relax on the large decking amidst
native birds and trees. Peace, privacy and tranquillity at its best! We will even deliver a candle light
dinner to your door. Approved pets welcome. We think Tarata is truly a magic place and we would
love sharing it with you.
