A family home since 1874, on the sea coast between Greymouth
nand Hokitika, Awatuna Homestead is an eco-friendly
accommodation 2 hrs drive from the Glaciers, 2 hrs from
Punakaiki Rocks and 3.5 hrs from
Christchurch. Base yourselves at the
Homestead for a few days and take relaxing short day trips to the
interesting and exciting places on the West Coast. On you return to
the Homestead, enjoy a relaxing wine or beer and, if you wish, listen
to Mäori cultural storytelling with Hëmi, followed by a delicious
evening dinner of classic country fare, prepared and cooked at the
Homestead by Pauline. At evening’s end make your way to your
ensuited bedrooms and sink into the luxurious warmth and comfort
of fabulous beds for a great night’s sleep. Wake up feeling refreshed
to enjoy a breakfast of homemade muesli, fruit, organic yoghurt,
fresh-baked bread and fresh eggs from the Homestead chickens.
Vintage cars, outdoor hot tub and extensive gardens compliment
your special experience at the Homestead.
